It’s a Friday night at a Berkeley campus bar in the fall of 2000, and Percy Marks is doing what she does best: pontificating about music. Hall and Oates spins on the jukebox, and Percy—brimming with opinions but no musical talent—can’t stop analyzing every note. But tonight feels different.
