Waldo is ravenous. Horny. Blunt. Naive and sharp all at once. Impulsive. Lonely. Angry. Forceful. Hurting. Perceptive. Always wanting. And what she wants most is Mr. Korgy—her creative writing teacher, with the wife and the child and the mortgage and the bills; with the dead dreams, the dulled looks, the softening waistline.
She doesn’t know why she wants him. Is it his passion? His accumulated life? The way he knows books and films and things she hasn’t yet learned? Or is it something simpler, more elemental—an unlikely connection, a shared way of seeing, two minds tuned to the same frequency? Or maybe it’s enough that he sees her at all, when no one else does.
