Set years after the original Sadako story, the latest installment in the RING series brings the curse into the digital age. In a world of computers, smartphones, and the internet, the Sadako virus has been reborn—more adaptable, more insidious, and deadlier than ever. Blending the chilling atmosphere of classic Japanese horror with the anxieties of modern technology, S marks Koji Suzuki’s powerful return to the world of J-Horror.
When 28-year-old image processing specialist Takanori Ando receives a mysterious USB drive from the president of his CG production company, he’s asked to analyze the strange video it contains. The footage is disturbingly realistic—too vivid to be computer-generated. Convinced that the man in the recording truly took his own life, Ando can’t help but wonder why he left this haunting clip behind.
But when Ando plays the video again the next day, something has changed. The corpse has shifted. With each new viewing, the footage transforms—and Ando realizes that whatever is inside the file is far from dead.
